Join the Oxbow education team as we host thousands of kids for Fall Farm Adventure fieldtrips! Primarily pre-school and early elementary-aged students visit the farm for 75-minute hands-on (and “mouths-on”) farm tours, facilitated by Oxbow farmers and volunteer instructors. Help students have fun while making discoveries about edible plant parts, digging in to organic soil & compost, practicing seed saving, noticing seasonal changes in nature & on the farm, and more!
Three Days of Fun: Volunteer Roles Needed
We have a variety of volunteer roles to fit your needs:
Set-up & Tear Down | Kitchen Support | Silent Auction Support | Post-Event Clean-Up Floaters/Runners | Admin & Registration Support | Shuttle Drivers*
Summer camp volunteers will assist the camp instructors leading small groups of children ages 4-13 during day camp. As a volunteer you will help provide a successful camp experience for campers by keeping them engaged through facilitating a variety of educational games and activities. Volunteers typically work with the same small camp group throughout the week, assisting the Summer Camp Instructor of that group.
Volunteer Naturalists lead tours for up to 14 kids (and their chaperones) around our two-acre Kids’ Farm & Living Playground, observing nature and tasting the season’s bounties.
Be a positive friend and encourage one student
Come help at our lovely little non-profit thrift store, Re-In-Carnation, located next door to the Sno-Valley Senior Center in Carnation. We sell donated items, utilizing the proceeds to fund senior programs and services. We are looking for volunteers to cashier OR help sort donations. If you’re friendly, honest, reasonably organized and like a good deal, this is a great opportunity.
Sno-Valley Senior seek helpers for setting table, cashiering, and as prep cook in the kitchen on weekdays from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm
