Help Seniors Stay Social and Active
Old Friends Club is a non-residential daytime program for older adults with mild to moderate cognitive challenges. Life is better with friends. We find common ground through conversation, games, creative projects, music, and a bit of exercise.
Join us once a week to come alongside people with Alzheimer’s or other dementia to help them stay socially engaged and physically active (while their family caregivers get a break!) We laugh and learn and are surprised daily with the stories that bubble up. These hours truly make a difference for our Club “members” and their families.
Old Friends Club meets Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays in Carnation, from 9:30 to 2:30. The group is averages about 10 people, plus two staff and (ideally) two volunteers daily. We are looking for volunteers who will arrive at 9am to help set up, assist with the activities of the day, serve and share lunch, and help clean up at the end of the day. A six hour shift is great. Shorter shifts are also very helpful.
Help us create a welcoming environment of fun, respect and joy!
